Getting Started with Aerie OS
Set up Aerie OS for your MSP in minutes. Learn how to create your first workspace, connect integrations, and get your team productive.
Prerequisites
- Active Aerie OS account (sign up at aerie-tech.co.uk)
- Administrator access to your systems (RMM, PSA, email, etc.)
- At least one team member to invite
Step 1: Create Your First Workspace
A workspace is a self-contained instance of Aerie OS for your MSP. You can create multiple workspaces for different business units or clients.
- Log in to your Aerie OS account
- Click + New Workspace in the dashboard
- Enter your workspace name (e.g., "Acme IT Solutions")
- Select your region (UK, EU, US)
- Click Create Workspace
Step 2: Invite Your Team
Aerie OS supports team collaboration with role-based access control. Invite team members and assign roles.
- Go to Settings → Team
- Click Invite Team Members
- Enter email addresses (comma-separated for multiple users)
- Assign roles: Admin, Manager, Technician, or Viewer
- Click Send Invitations
Step 3: Connect Your First Integration
Aerie OS integrates with popular RMM, PSA, and security tools. Start with your primary RMM or PSA.
- Go to Settings → Integrations
- Select your RMM or PSA from the list
- Authenticate with your system's API credentials
- Select which data to sync (devices, tickets, assets)
- Click Connect
Step 4: Configure Your Dashboard
Customize your dashboard to show the metrics that matter most to your team.
- Go to Dashboard
- Click Customize Layout
- Drag widgets to rearrange
- Add or remove widgets as needed
- Save your layout
Step 5: Set Up Automation Rules
Use Aerie OS automation to save time on repetitive tasks. Create rules based on device status, ticket priority, or security events.
- Go to Automation → Rules
- Click + New Rule
- Set your trigger (e.g., "High CPU usage detected")
- Define your action (e.g., "Create ticket" or "Send alert")
- Save and enable the rule
Best Practices
- Start small: Begin with core integrations (RMM + PSA). Add more later.
- Assign roles carefully: Give users only the access they need.
- Test automations: Always test automation rules on a small group first.
- Monitor activity: Check the activity log regularly to spot issues.
- Schedule training: Plan a 1-hour team training session in week 1.
